This snow is going to make my snowboarding adventure tomorrow night freakin' awesome! Anyone want to roll to Keystone with me? 5 hrs ago

I’ve got plenty to write about for this one, but for now…
Let’s just start with some pics:
Yes, the temperature gauge on my Jeep does say 2 degrees. it’s 6 p.m. and already nearly below zero. I think tonight may turn out to be the coldest night of the year so far… and definitely since we’ve been living in the mountains.
Looks like I’ll be building a nice warm fire and doing my best to stay warm tonight.

Unfortunately my plans to watch the new release Family Guy: Blue Harvest (Star Wars spoof) have been foiled. Blockbuster had a limited number of copies and they were all out.
So…. it’s the latest installment of Pirates of the Carribean - At World’s End and/or Good Luck Chuck for my viewing pleasure this evening.
My better half is on her way to California for a conference (NAMM 2008), so it’s just me and the boys till Monday. Hmmmm, sounds like a good time to pad my Madden 2008 stats on the Wii.
I’ve got one word for Vail….. Owwwwwsome!
So much fun, yet so much pain. Every muscle in my body aches. Snowboarding is seriously the the most demanding of hobbies I’ve claimed here in Colorado thus far.
Hiking 13,000+ foot peaks, snowshoeing, mountain biking in the front range, rock climbing…. none of it even compares to the work out and satisfaction you get from a good day of snowboarding, and today was one of those days.
The weather was gorgeous.. the sun was shining… the slopes were groomed… the crowd was minimal… the wind was non-existent. In short it was perfect. A well spent vacation day I have to say.
I’ll definitely be visiting Vail again real soon.

Heading up to Vail for the first time tomorrow…
As of today’s ski report Vail has the most runs and territory open with 5104 of 5289 acres open and groomed for my ass to wipe out on!
I’m pretty stoked. The high country (ski resort areas) have had more snowfall and pack this year then in recent years. In fact, some areas have already had more than 100% of their average snowfall (and it’s only January)… which is good news for skiers and snowboards… but bad news once Spring arrives. Expect some floods and raging rivers. Looks like I’ll be holding off until mid to late summer for another rafting trip.
So… look for another message or injury report later tomorrow or Wednesday.
